Production anniversary in Düsseldorf: 5,000,000 vans with the three-pointed star The Mercedes-Benz plant in Düsseldorf celebrated its 60th anniversary in April this year, and with that the next milestone on 5th October: the production of the 5 millionth van. As a van plant of the first hour, the 'Bremer' and the 'Düsseldorfer' rolled off the production line here as early as 1965.
